Erfahrungen mit Aaron Pilsan

I am an adult returning to piano study. I took piano lessons from age 9 through my first year of university, then life got in the way. I have been a member of Pilsan Academy for a little over a year now, and my piano ability has now grown beyond my previous capability in many ways. Aaron has a very sound foundational system for study. I find the masterclasses very useful for my own development as well as learning from others. His style is encouraging and supportive, and his real-world experience as a concert pianist brings more than just an academic perspective. His vast knowledge of musicality, expression, and technique are invaluable. I have learned more about piano technique in one year than I did in all my previous lessons. I will continue to work with him and the Pilsan Academy.

What impressed me from the very beginning is his incredible expertise – he brings over a decade of experience and is an active pianist himself.

It has been a great learning experience. Aaron Pilsan has the ability to teach and transmit technique as well as means to make interpretation expressive and profound.

Aaron and his team have built up a great platform and system to teach and to help others grow in their piano playing journey. The academy has high quality and an efficient learning system and tools, but it is more than that. It is like a family, a place of encouragement. Aaron and Mario give the students plenty of their time. They actively monitor their progress. Piano lovers of every level, you will not be disappointed.

Man baut eine direkt freundschaftliche Beziehung zu zwei großartigen jungen Pianisten Aaron und Mario auf und genießt das Privileg, sich über tiefgreifende Techniken und die Liebe zur Klaviermusik auch für Hobbypianisten auszutauschen – auch mit den anderen Mentees.
Aarons spezifische technische Ratschläge treffen immer genau ins Schwarze. Seine kontinuierliche Unterstützung hilft einem dabei, wie eine wertvolle Pflanze zu wachsen – auch im eigenen Geist und Herzen. Man spürt förmlich, dass man bald aufblühen wird und dass dieser Erfolg langfristig anhält.
Innerhalb von nur sechs Monaten hat sich mein Repertoire erweitert und meine Klaviertechnik drastisch verbessert. Ich spiele schon sehr lange Klavier, aber eine so strukturierte und fürsorgliche Lehrmethode habe ich noch nie zuvor erlebt.

The Academy is well structured in the learning modules and the website is stable; I haven’t experienced a single problem with it. In the live sessions, Aaron or his assistant Mario recognize the different issues in a very diverse group of mentees and react flexibly and with sensitivity, patience and encouragement. Their explanations are crafted in such a way that others at every level who are watching can also benefit. Beyond a piano lesson, I consider this a compact study of (piano) music in general because the focus goes beyond technique to include interpetation, psychology and relevance of music to life. The Academy has a community feeling. Aaron Pilsan’s own musicality and aesthetic sensibility is a suitable model, and I consider this a valuable learning opportunity. His remarks, criticisms and suggestions are focused and concentrated so that I find myself reviewing the videorecorded sessions sometimes more than once. Outside the live sessions, both mentors usually respond quickly to queries. Some of the technical explanations in the modules are delivered very fast for a non digital native, but the mentors help out personally when this becomes an obstacle. Going through the whole module is a major commitment, and sometimes, to get to what you need, you have to go through a lot of other stuff first, but in this case Aaron helps out with an individual solution.

Aaron Pilsan ist ein junger praktizierender Pianist, der in bekannten internationalen Spielstätten auftritt. Er hat sich alles, was das Klavierspiel betrifft, genauestens erarbeitet und durch reflektiert und in seinen Lehrvideos so zusammengefasst, dass man es auch als Amateurpianist verstehen und umsetzen kann. Warum sollte ein Klavierlehrer jedem Schüler immer wieder das gleiche erzählen. So ist das viel besser. Man kann sich die Videos, die einen besonders betreffen auch mehrfach anschauen. Es gibt eine Community, in der man sich mit anderen Klavierlernenden austauschen kann. Aaron fragt auch persönlich nach, ob alles gut läuft und ob er Fragen beantworten kann. Es ist sehr motivierend am Mentee-Programm teilzunehmen. Jeder kann sich heraussuchen, was ihm besonders helfen kann: Videos, Online-Sitzungen oder Austausch mit der Community. Ich denke, jeder ambitionierte Hobby-Pianist sollte sich dem Programm anschließen.

I have started this piano Academy in September 2025 and it was a really good decision. After twenty years playing on my own I have discovered the online piano teaching as a new tool. The Aaron Pilsan Academy is a very well organised platform allowing you to progress, make exercices at your own rhythm, train your performance skills by playing in the (online) presence of other people and to know other mentees. In this community we also discuss about music in general, the preparation of performance situations and evidently stage fright (mindset). The teaching is very helpful and performed by two experienced concert pianists. After six months I clearly see my own progress, not only for playing, but for reading the sheet music - with all these many indications.
